With both of those in mind, we’re writing to announce that together with our stakeholders we’ve made the very hard decision to temporarily close the inn—for an unknown period of some months.
For an insider’s guide to Kalamazoo music, however, the following is what we had in mind. When you stay at the inn and want to stroll to check out the local venues to see what might scratch your particular musical itch, you’re bound to stumble on some local and regional talent that could be finalists on “American Idol,” or “The Voice”, or be featured acts in Nashville. Oh wait, all those we have recently seen just wandering in the evenings. Headliners at large venues are great, but here are our personal favorites.
Sometimes if they don’t get a chance to meet her during a short stay, guests will ask “where’s Stephanie?”. I will often joke about how hard I make my “sugar mama” work. I may say something like, “Someone has to earn the health insurance for the family,” or, “We certainly don’t want to let grass grow under her feet.” It’s a joke because those who know Steph know she’s always on the go—about as busy as anyone I know. And it’s true now more than ever.
