Kalamazoo House’s Safety & Peace of Mind Protocols
We want our guests to feel as safe and comfortable at the Kalamazoo House as you would in your own home. We always have and will continue to make the health and well-being of our guests and staff our top priority. Please review information about additional changes you can expect when you arrive and during your stay here. 

General Property Information
Our property undergoes a daily routine schedule of multiple sanitation cleaning procedures, including the high touch surfaces (doorknobs, handrails, etc.) to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for our guests and staff.

  • Hand sanitizing stations have been installed throughout the property.
  • Social Distance when you are in any common areas indoor and on the staircases when other guests are near.
  • Masks are to be worn when inside the Inn or, as needed, determined by the Innkeepers.
  • The health of our staff members is being carefully monitored. Any staff member that shows any COVID-19 or other virial symptoms will be asked to leave, contact their doctor, and self-quarantine as needed. We will be taking temperatures of staff members before each shift.
  • All Suites and common areas have had books and magazines removed, decorative throw blankets, pillows removed, and other frequent touch items removed. Bed pillows, linens, comforters, and blankets that remain are always removed after each guests, washed and dried with high heat for it entire cycle to ensure safety. 

Check-In Time is 3 pm. At this time, earlier arrivals and access to the building may be limited. Our side entrance may be locked throughout the day. If you arrive and the door is locked, we will be alerted via a front door camera and will greet you as soon as possible. If you arrive and another couple is being checked in, feel free to wait in our parlor to the left of the main entrance while keeping social distancing. Check-in will be expedited to accommodate minimal contact, and we may be reached by phone, text, or email at any time for additional assistance.
For a completely contactless check-in, please phone or text us at 269-382-0880 or email us at info@thekalamazoohouse.com prior to your arrival. We are delighted to assist and make sure everything is all set up for a “self-check-in” and a “self-check-out.”
Please let us know if you need assistance with luggage to your room, and we will be happy to wear gloves and carry your luggage upstairs.

We want to provide you the highest level of service and attention, but we want you to feel safe as well as our staff. Therefore, we have temporarily suspended daily room housekeeping.
We are happy to deliver upon request extra towels, bath amenities, remove the trash, etc., from your room. Contact us by phone or text at 269-382-0880 for your specific needs during your stay.
All procedures are subject to change based on guidance and protocols from the CDC and applicable governmental authorities.

Breakfast & Reception Hour
We will continue with our sit-down served breakfast service, but we have incorporated the CDC guidelines of social distancing by placing tables 6 feet apart and offering 2 breakfast times.  Reception Hour is held in our bar/dining room between 4 pm-5 pm each day. There will be a personalized wrapped tray or to-go container, including a beverage and light nibbles.

You are welcome to enjoy the goodies in the lounge/dining area while socially distancing from other guests or out on the porch (in warmer months) or back to your room (Please set your used tray/containers/plates etc., down on the mail floor table when finished, we can collect and properly sanitize/dispose of them).

Departures & Retail Purchases
Check out is 11 am, and there is no formal check out needed. Your final payment will be charged to the credit card on file the morning of your departure (unless otherwise noted upon check-in), and a receipt is emailed. Please leave your room key in the room so it can be properly sanitized.
